Club House1. Always ensure that the bolt is withdrawn and the breech open when rifles are removed from the safes.
2. Always insert a breech flag before entering the firing point.
3. Ensure that the issuing of ammunition to novices is closely regulated.
4. Take care when closing the safe doors that yours or other people’s fingers are not trapped.
5. Do not touch electrical sockets or plugs with wet hands.
6. Do not use the coffee machines if you have not read the instructions.
7. Take particular care when the kettle/coffee machines contain boiling water.
Rifle Shooting
8. Always ensure that the red flag is flying before shooting commences.
9. Hearing protection should be worn at all times. Hearing protection must be worn by all members under 16 years of age.
10. Junior members under 16 must wear hearing protection
11. Junior members under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
12. Do not enter the firing point when shooting is in progress.
13. Do not leave the firing point to change targets until instructed by the range officer in attendance.
14. Ensure that the rifle is pointed at the butts at all times when loaded.
15. Ensure that the breech flag is in when leaving the firing point to change targets or when entering the club house.
16. Rifles are to be secured in a gun slip or hard case when not in use.
17. Never leave live rounds on the firing point.
18. The Range Officer or last person off the premises must ensure that the safes are securely locked.
Pistol Shooting
19. Always ensure that the red flag is flying before shooting commences.
20. Always ensure that the pistol is pointed at the butts when loaded.
21. Await the Range Officers instructions before commencement of firing.
22. Show breech open and clear at the end of each firing sequence.
23. If you have a problem with a loaded pistol, draw it to the Range Officers attention immediately.
24. Ensure pistol/s is/are unloaded and safe before leaving the firing point.
25. Pistols are to be secured in a plastic or aluminium case when not in use.
26. 12g CO2 cartridges are under high pressure. Do not expose to sun or heat.
27. Do not attempt to pierce the sealing cap of a CO2 cartridge as it could result in SERIOUS FREEZE BURNS or other injuries. If you receive a freeze burn, warm the area as quickly as possible and seek medical help as tissue damage and permanent scarring can result.
